The Liver: Treating Mu Yan–Wood Inflammation

Jeffrey Russell demonstrates techniques used in the treatment of liver organ conditions such as hepatitis and cirrhosis. The treatment uses points that involve the hepatic nerve. In Chinese medicine the liver is associated with the element of Wood. The treatment in this video is for conditions considered Wood Inflammation.

The demonstration was prepared for students; however, for the layperson, it illustrates the expertise, specificity and complexity of acupuncture practice.

Jeffrey is a practitioner of Chinese herbalism and acupuncture in the Louisville area. He is trained in the use of Master Tung’s Points, a style of acupuncture often affectionately known as the ‘Magic Points’. The practice is one of simplicity and deep effectiveness. It uses points opposite the area of concern so that needles are never used in the injured or Louisville acupunctureaffected area. This allows the body’s energy pathways to be kept clear as needed energy is directed to deficient areas or excess is pulled away. If you would like to discuss the use of acupuncture to treat liver conditions or any other health concerns you have, you can contact Jeffrey at his clinic, Abacus Chinese Medicine-Louisville Acupuncture and Chinese Herbalism at (502) 299-8900.
